Picture of the day. Shortly after sunrise September 26 2007, the Delta rocket takes off from pad 17b at NASA sending the Dawn mission to the asteroid belt. Here it is from Cocoa Beach, taken with our little Kodak.



This is shortly before the sound hit us, because there are still a few seagulls on the beach. Once the roar arrived, they were outta there.

And yes, the launch was every bit as awe-inspiring as it looks.
