That's pretty heavy. I remember going to Comdex around 1993 with a couple of other developer friends in an attempt to find some publishers for our stuff. Hotels were damn near impossible to find and the wait in cab-lines could go on for 30 minutes. Cab drivers were coming into town from as far away as Los Angeles to take up the slack. It was the biggest affair I'd ever seen, and now it's very probably dead.
The folks running it say they're "giving it a breather for a while and then will bring it back", but that's exactly what the guy running our local Wizards of the Coast store said when they were having their 75% off sale.
