Something funny

A conservative newsletter just posted its list of The Ten Most Harmful Books of the 19th and 20th Centuries. The list itself is nothing surprising for a rightwing newsletter, with books on communism, socialism, anti-Christian philosophy and evolution.

What's notable is that every book contains a link to Amazon with the newsletter's referral ID in the URL.

Remember, folks. These books are the most harmful things published in the past 200 years. And we get a 5% kickback if you buy 'em today!

Notice they didn't list any books on capitalism. I can't believe they put The Kinsey Report as number 4 after Quotations from Chairman Mao. WTF!

...The Feminine Mystique ??

[lol]

Why didn't these books get nominated? I had a real good laugh at the line in the simpsons where Ned Flanders is reading one of these to rod/tod and closes it up - "And Harry and friends went straight to hell for practicing witchcraft" [lol]

@TANSTAAFL - have you actually read all of those? Some of them seem, uhm, somewhat below what I'd be expecting a person of your stature to be reading [wink]

Staff > GDNet+ [smile]

That and you write books, right? I've been asked to write books for Premier Press, but I never had the time [sad]. I can't be bothered to check the 100+ books I own, but one on the shelf to my left is "Focus on SDL" that I got given free [wink]

I'd say, at least in GDNet terms, that was "stature" [oh] Or, should I retract my ratings++?
